Panthella floor light by Verner Panton for Louis Poulsen, Denmark 1970s.

This early version has a chromed base and stand, and a chromed plastic shade (white inside). The piece is in original vintage condition with wear as one might expect from age and use, including some losses to the chrome at the top of the stem, typically hidden by the shade when in use, and light scratches on both the shade and the base. Original diffuser in place between the shade and the bulb. Label in place on the base.

This version is an unusual medium height floor lamp which provides good low ambient light for the room, or reading light at an armchair. The design of the Panthella channels the light down onto the base which, being reflective, bounces the light up and around. The lamp has a foot-switch switch on the base and the brightness can adjusted with three different strengths with the right bulb in place (bulb not included), or can be used with a normal bulb by double-clicking the switch. Low heat bulb recommended. PAT tested for the UK.

Dimensions: H 124cm x Dia (shade) 50cm | Dia (base) 35cm
