Elegant headboard of cast bronze and brass, designed by Luciano Frigerio, Italy, 1970s.
This is a stylish headboard, in good original condition, with nice patina and character in line with age. The decorative section comprises cross-bars with smooth brass finish, linked by uprights in heavily textured cast bronze. The line of the uprights continues through the second cross-bar, tapering to a decorative fixing on the frame below. The outline of the lower part of this model is also finished in brass. This design is reversible, and the majority of the images show the side formerly used as the front; there are traces of old padding on the reverse.
We have not polished the metal and it shows a mellow aged tone with light signs of wear as one might expect, including some tarnishing, losses to the finish - most notable in the lower part of the frame - and a few places (one to the front) where the rolled brass has opened a little, though this does not affect the structure.
- Overall size: H 105.5cm x W 178.7cm x D 5cm
- Decorative panel only: H 48cm x W 178.7cm
The overall dimensions are taken at the widest and tallest points, which are the upper corners of the top cross bar.
The height of the decorative panel is taken to the top of the third cross bar, where the lower frame starts.
