£2,000 | £1,000 for set of 2
Glass pendant bubble lights by Finnish designer Helena Tynell for Glashütte Limburg of Germany, mid-20th century.
Attractive fixtures consisting of a glass shade of pale amber, topped with a brass tube. The brass simply rests on the glass, and conceals the access to the lamp holder, within the glass the lamp-holder is covered by a second tube.
The lights are in good original condition, with minor signs of wear in line with age and use to both the glass and the metal, including a few flakes to the glass at the opening, which are not visible when the fixture is in use. There is a light patina to the outer tubes, which we expect has been cleaned over time.
Wiring: original wiring in black, taking a single E27 bulb; we advise the wiring is tested and/or replaced close to install to ensure it meets local needs and regulations. Limburg label in place, which gives a maximum wattage notice of 100W, though we do recommend lower heat options, such as LED, to protect these lights for the future.
Overall size excluding cable: Height 34cm (glass and brass) x diameter 30cm.
The height of the glass shade is approximately 21cm; the glass plus brass tube is 34cm.
Total drop including cable: 85cm for the light in the images; the other is around 140cm; the cable can be adjusted or replaced to suit the space.
The lights are the same model, with their own individual tones to the brass, and slightly different cable details. Please contact us here if you would like more details or images.
