A small tray of painted brass, mid-20th century Germany.
The tray is of asymmetrical shape, with curved ends and long side rails. The top is painted in creamy off-white to reveal circles of brass and a brass edge. An attractive piece, possibly used in the past on a desk or dressing table.
There are minor signs of wear and former use including light marks; dings, losses to the painted finish, and an aged patina to the brass.
Approximate dimensions: L 33.2cm x D 19.5cm x H 3.8cm
The dimensions are taken at the maximum point; for the depth this is roughly across the centre of the two rails (see plan view in image 3).
