Studio ceramic sculpture by Clive Brooker, England.

Handmade pottery, with strong silhouette and brutalist feel. The lower surface is charcol in colour - very deep brown - and the upper is brown; both have a matte finish and the texture of sand, with sgraffito lines. The bowl is finished with a deep green glaze.

This is a striking work: for us it stands well as sculpture, and it could possibly also work as a candlestick or vase/vessel with shallow bowl; there are two further holes, one on each shoulder. If used as a vessel we would suggest using a suitable liner to protect the finish. Good vintage condition with minor surface wear, typically to the bottom edge, in line with age and use. Stamped by the artist.

Approximate dimensions: H 37cm x W 14cm x D11cm

The piece sits very nicely alongside a piece by Waistel Cooper, also in our collection here (see final image). Cabinet in the background (just seen) is by André Sornay and is available here. Please contact us if you would like further details of any of these pieces.
