Early 1960s teak sideboard with rosewood handles, designed by the Danish designer Ib Kofod Larsen for the English manufacturer G-Plan.
The exclusive "G-Plan Danish" range was introduced in the early sixties in response to the increasing popularity of imported Scandinavian furniture. The design work was carried out by Kofod Larsen, with finishing typically in teak and rosewood. The Danish range was more expensive than G-Plan's other products, and these pieces are now relatively rare. The majority of the Danish range carries the gold G-Plan Danish stamp, with Kofod Larsen's signature; this sideboard carries the stamp on an interior shelf.
