Pair of cylindrical brass sconces with cased glass shades, European, first half of the 20th century and very much in Art Deco style.

Simple and elegant pieces with brass wall plates and end caps, which house wide cased-glass shades with an outer layer of café au lait, and white lining.

The lights are in good condition with warm aged patina to the brass. There are a few nicks to the glass around the rims of the cylinders, as often found in lights of this design, and not visible in use. The interior metalwork has been restored and new wiring will be installed. Each light has two bulb-holders for large screw-fitting bulbs.

The lights could be mounted horizontally or vertically. The glass can be removed to change a bulb by loosening the screw on one end cap (if fitted vertically this will usually be the top cap).

Dimensions: H 36.2cm (back plate) x W 8cm x D 10cm
