A pair of circular glass and brass shelves, for display or storage, second half of the 20th century, unsigned.
Simple, stylish design and very nice quality manufacture. The thick glass shelves are clear, with a very slight green tint, and supported by brackets of tubular brass. The shelves were sourced in Europe, and were perhaps used for display in a shop or apothecary, as both have wear from age and use; however, for us, they remain in nice vintage condition and present well. Possibly French or Italian.
The glass is held in place on the brackets using three hex grub screws, and the brackets attach to the wall through holes on the back plate. The glass means these are heavy pieces, which will require suitable installation and wall fixings (not supplied).
Approximate dimensions for each piece:
H 11.2cm this is the height of the back plate
W 34.1cm this is the diameter of the glass; the glass is 15mm thick
D 35.6cm this is the approximate projection from the back of the wall plate to the front of the glass
The shelves will be dismantled for shipping.
