Pair of Italian push-pull door handles finished to the front and sides in red enamel with hand-painted designs in white, black and deep brown. Mid-20th century. Unsigned.
These are very unusual handles, nicely made, with a hand-crafted feel. They are vintage pieces with signs of wear, as one might expect from age and outdoor use, with small chips, light grazes and imperfections to the finish. The brass fixing nuts are unpolished with aged patina. The red of the front is best shown in image 2; plain black enamel on the inside face.
Approximate dimensions per piece:
H 26cm x W 11.2cm x D 5.3cm (not including fixing bolt)
One handle has a fixing bolt of approximately 2.3cm welded into place.
The handles have been set up to use either side of a single door, with dome-headed fixing nuts and bolts, however you could consult your fitter to enable them to work on thicker doors, or alongside one another on double doors if you wish; one handle has its fixing bolt welded into place as shown.
