Set of two studio ceramic sculptures or vessels by Clive Brooker, mid-20th century, England.
Handmade pottery, with strong silhouette and Brutalist feel. The outside surface of both is dark brown, with a matte finish and the texture of sand, with scribed lines. The insides are finished with a deep turquoise-green glaze. The asymmetric shape of both pieces creates an interesting outline which changes according to the point of view. If used as vessels we would suggest using a suitable liner to protect the finish. Good vintage condition with surface wear in line with age and use, including very small spots of lost glaze, possibly arisen in the making. Stamped by the artist on the underside.
