Teak cabinet from the U+N - or Japanese - series, with characteristic black handles and black metal legs. Model CU01. Designed by Cees Braakman for Pastoe, Netherlands, 1958.
The cabinet comprises three sections: the dark grey lacquered door conceals a secretaire with small shelves; the four drawers below feature bent ply detailing, with the right cupboard providing storage with movable shelves.
The version with a dark grey leaf is original to Pastoe but rarely seen and hard to find. The cabinet is in great condition, with a few signs of use and age, and presents well.
