Simple but striking table/desk lamp with large saucer-shaped shade, manufactured by LBL, former DDR. The shade is French grey (green-grey) on the outside, and white inside, held in place by a brass disc. Unusual to see a lamp of this style in such a large size.

Overall the lamps are in good condition and give good task lighting for your desk, studio or living space. There are minor signs of wear as one might expect; the brass parts have a nice patina, and the lamps are labelled and dated. Wiring has been renewed in recent years.

Dimensions:
Height 41cm x width 45cm (when shade is horizontal as in the main picture)
Depth 43cm (equivalent to the diameter of the shade).

LBL (VEB Leuchtenbau Leipzig) was founded in 1889. Designers who worked for the company included Marianne Brandt, who was head of the Bauhaus metal workshop in 1928.
