Small English Wall Mirror with Arched Frame and Bevelled Glass
A small accent wall mirror with arched wooden frame and bevelled glass plate. 19th century. Found in England.
The small mirror is heavy and nicely made. The frame and chopped back panel are made of wood - possibly oak - and the front of the frame looks to be veneered in walnut. There are signs of colour added to the frame: brown to the sides and back and faint traces of gold detail to the front.
The piece has an overall mellow aged patina with signs of wear in line with age and use, including some losses to the mirror backing, and spilts to the wood. We have categorised the condition as fair to draw attention to these points.
Approximate dimensions:
Height: 60.7cm
Width: 30.3cm
Depth: 2.7cm (thickness of frame)
The back is fitted with a wire to hang.
