Turned Wood Side Table attributed to Charles Dudouyt, France
A turned wood side table, or guéridon, first half twentieth century, France, attributed to Charles Dudouyt (1885-1946).
The table has a thick stem with a heavy base; nicely figured with turned detail to the edge of the top, and chamfered profiling of the base. The piece is in good vintage condition overall with age-appropriate signs of wear. There is a small historic crack to the stem, which is non-structural, and very slight warping to the top. The wood is oak and has been stained with a mid-to-dark brown finish, with the top being slightly lighter after years of use. Nice warm tones.
Approximate dimensions:
H: 56cm
Dia: 47cm
The stem has a thick wooden thread at each end to connect to the top and base, the table will be dismantled for transit.
